Editorial standards
These rules apply to staff pieces and to guest work. They exist so a reader can trust a plate figure, an ADR citation and a workshop recommendation.
Independence
The desk does not take a commission on trailer sales. Manufacturers do not see copy before it runs unless we are checking a technical claim they uniquely hold. We would rather lose a quote than launder a brochure.
Sources
Compliance claims point at primary sources: the ADR texts, Vehicle Standards Bulletin 1, the Register of Approved Vehicles, and the state or territory road agency. Workshop practice is labelled as practice, not as law. Guides that discuss registration include a note that they are not legal advice.
Corrections
If we get a mass, a threshold or a process wrong, we fix the article and leave a short note when the change is material. Send evidence through the contact form.
Advertising and sponsored links
Commercially arranged placements are disclosed in the copy. Those outbound links use rel="sponsored". Navigational links on this site are ordinary <a href> elements so a crawler can follow them. Guest guidelines live on Write for us.
Images
Photographs are Creative Commons or public domain, self-hosted, and credited on the article and on the image credits page. We do not scrape manufacturer catalogues for hero shots.
